What to Bring: Come prepared to do evening fire ceremony and outdoor explorations.
Plan accordingly to the season and the site location. You may need to bring a coat or jacket, boots, raingear, a flashlight, etc. Wear comfortable clothes, as much of the work is done on the floor. Chairs are available for those who need them.
Class begins the first day of the session at 3 pm. Registration begins at 1 pm. The session ends at 1 pm on the last day.
Work of the North: In the North we learn the way to the land of the ancestors, the Ancient Ones, a place outside of time and space from which the legends say the Universe springs forth each day. Here the shaman receives the “sacred dream” and the mandate to honor and serve all of life. There are three mystery practices in the North – the practice of invisibility, the ability to step outside of time and the ability to keep a secret, even from yourself. You will need to bring three beautiful stones for your North mesa.
In addition to the North work, we will be working with the shamanic healing tradition of Soul Retrieval. As you know, this is an ancient practice for recovering those parts of our essential selves that have been lost as a result of pain or trauma. It has been practiced by shamans for a thousand generations, and can achieve in a few sessions what often takes years to achieve in psychotherapy. You will be experiencing and translating mythic passages into contemporary journeys of transformation. Using selective states of consciousness unique to shamanism, you will discover realms not bound by ordinary time, domains where there is no causality, and where one can hear the voices of the ancient ones in the wind, heal one’s past, and summon one’s destiny.
Remember to wear comfortable clothes, bring your mesa, journal, case studies and your rattle and drum if you have one. We will be having nights of ceremony and receiving one more transmission. Again, it is customary to gift the person giving this transmission with a small token of your appreciation.
Additional Opportunities: We are pleased to offer additional learning and healing opportunities in conjunction with your Healing the Light Body sessions.
Walking with Protection, June 3-8, 2010 Decorah, Iowa.
We live in a very interesting world right now, where power is constantly being abused and misused. History is full of generational curses, dark shadows, and abuse of power. It is critical we know how to gracefully and quickly work with clients and friends caught in these places so they can be free to step into who they are becoming.
