The session ends at 1:00 pm on the last day.Work of the West: We will be starting the work of the West where we will learn the Shaman’s journey beyond fear and death. We will also work on developing our skills as trackers in learning the extraction process. You will need to bring a crystal for the extraction work. The crystal needs to be large enough to get a good hand hold and be optically clear without inclusions or cracks. A double terminated crystal is preferable. The number of facets or sides is not significant.

Lab grown crystals are available through the Four Winds web site.

For names and contact information for our suppliers of natural grown crystals please contact the Four Winds office.

Also please bring three stones for your West mesa; one red, one yellow, and one black.

Remember to bring the three written case studies of your illuminations to turn in.

What to Bring: Come prepared to do evening fire ceremony and outdoor explorations.

Plan accordingly to the season and the site location. You may need to bring a coat or jacket, boots, raingear, a flashlight, etc. Wear comfortable clothes, as much of the work is done on the floor. Chairs are available for those who need them.

During class sessions we will be working on the floor. Please dress comfortably and bring any seating materials you might need. You might want to bring two sets of clothing appropriate for a ceremonial evening (nice dress, or slacks and shirt). We will be spending a significant time in ceremony. You will be using a pendulum, which can be purchased in many bookstores or new age shops. Bring rattle or drum if you have one.

You will receive the transmissions of the rites of passage of the Laika tradition. It is customary to gift the person giving the transmissions with a small token of your appreciation. Bring a journal for notes. Handouts are minimal. We honor our tradition as an oral tradition.

What’s In a Day: Generally, each day will include morning breathing/meditation, teaching segments, sacred movement and dance (we have found that movement opens us to our energetic capacities), skill sessions, demonstrations, practice sessions and processing time. Evenings find us in ceremony.

Additional Opportunities: We are pleased to offer additional learning and healing opportunities in conjunction with your Healing the Light Body sessions.

Reading the Signs of Destiny: September 25 – 30, 2011 in La Isla Tepoztlán, Mexico

Divination is the art of recognizing and aligning oneself with the signs of destiny. You will learn to read the signs provided to us by nature, randomness, and chance events. Shamanic seeing is the learned ability to perceive the luminous world of energy and spirit. You will discover ancient tools to awaken the shaman’s way of seeing. You will learn to sense the energy vortexes, or chakras, as well as develop the skills and tools for tracking and divination. During this week you will open the doors of perception to discover the luminous world of energy and spirit that surrounds us, and awaken the dormant seer within.
